Kia's compact coupe -- the Forte Koup -- moves into 2016 with no changes.
This two-door ditches its sedan sibling's lowest LX model and comes dressed in EX and SX trims.
EX model uses a 2.0L four-cylinder engine making 173 hp and 154 lb-ft of torque, which can be matched to six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. SX trim replaces that with a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder good for 201 hp and 195 lb-ft, which can also be had with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.
Fuel consumption estimates for 2.0L cars are 10.0/7.4 L/100 km (city/highway) with the stickshift, and 9.7/7.1 with the automatic, while the 1.6L's ratings are 10.8/8.1 with the manual, and 10.6/7.8 for the automatic transmission.
Standard features in EX models include 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, LED front positioning lights, electric power steering, adjustable steering assist, map lights, tilt-and-telescopic steering column, four-wheel disc brakes, auto-dimming rearview mirror, air conditioning, rear-seat vents, trip computer, heated front seats, cloth upholstery, leather-trimmed shifter and steering wheel, keyless entry, power windows, door locks and side mirrors, heated windshield wipers, power-folding and heated side mirrors, six-speaker stereo, UVO infotainment system, and a backup camera.
EX AT trim adds the automatic transmission and Kia's Active ECO drive system. A sunroof is optional in automatic cars.
SX trims start out with all of the base EX's features and add 18-inch wheels, sport-tuned suspension, upgraded front brakes, sport-tuned dual exhaust, carbon fibre exterior trim, aeroblade wipers, intelligent keyless entry with push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, alloy pedals, cooling glove box, LED taillights, LED "halo" fog lights, and welcome lighting.
Here, the automatic transmission comes with steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. A luxury package available in SX AT models adds a sunroof, xenon headlights, multimedia interface, enhanced gauge cluster, leather seating, ventilated driver's seat, and a heated steering wheel.
Prices range from $21,295 for the EX MT to $28,795 for an SX AT Luxury model.
